Michael Forbes brings Delicious Food and a Family-Friendly Atmosphere to the Brookside Neighborhood
Nestled in the heart of Brookside, Michael Forbes has been bringing a family friendly atmosphere and delicious food to the area for over twenty years. Located on the corner of 63rd and Brookside streets in a cottage like building, Michael Forbes serves breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as an extensive wine and cocktail selection. The menu offers a wide variety, from soups, salads, sandwiches and burgers to seafood and prime rib and just about anything in between.
On the Soup and Salad menu, Mom’s Chili ($3.50) had a delicious taste and texture. We know where it got its name! Arguably better than any mothers homemade chili, this chili brought out the onion and tomato flavors in a traditional homemade chili.

Also, from the soup and salad menu, the Garden Side Salad ($3.50) is filled with fresh veggies. This salad has fresh leafy lettuce with tomatoes, cheddar jack cheese, red onions, chopped egg, carrots and homemade croutons.
Michael Forbes has a large menu that could be potentially overwhelming if your not a quick decision maker. The menu features various sandwiches, wraps, burgers, chicken, seafood, pasta and hand tossed pizza all for an affordable price.
From the burger menu, the Double Diner Cheeseburger ($10.50) has two 4 ounce patties topped with grilled onions and American cheese. This burger came right off of the grill, still sizzling on the bun.
A pleasant ending to the meal was the lemon bar with fresh raspberries ($4.90). Made from scratch, this lemon bar was the perfect consistency and lemon flavor. The raspberries were fresh and juicy.
Michael Forbes serves brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. A buffet brunch is available for $11.90 or choose from classic selections such as biscuits and gravy ($6.9) with hash browns or eggs Benedict ($9.50) with an english muffin, ham, poached egg, hollandaise and hash browns.
Michael Forbes offers happy hour from 3 - 6 p.m. at the bar as well as daily food specials including "kids eat free" every Sunday after 5 p.m. Michael Forbes ends the monday blues with 1/2 price bottles of wine.
